What is a Supplement?
A supplement is an additional request for claim funds submitted to the insurance company after the initial estimate has been written.
Supplements are common in property insurance claims because the insurance company’s original estimate may not include all of the repairs needed. In many cases, the contractor may discover additional items during repairs or rebuild that were not visible or identifiable during the initial inspection.
Examples may include:
-
Additional roof components or materials needed to complete the repair properly
-
Hidden damage discovered after tear-off or demolition
-
Code-required items not included in the original estimate
-
Underestimated labor, material, or scope of work
Why Delta Public Adjusting is Involved
Delta Public Adjusting will work alongside your contractor to help ensure your claim is properly documented and presented to the insurance company.
Our goal is simple:
To help you recover all insurance benefits that you are owed under your policy.
We will review your contractor’s documentation, including photos and repair evidence, and identify where coverage may apply. We will then communicate with the insurance company to request any additional funds that may be justified based on the scope of repairs.
